Texas Fallen Heroes Run to Remember
The Texas Fallen Heroes Run to Remember is a chance for our supporters across Texas and throughout the country to participate in an event that honors our fallen law enforcement officer, firefighter, or EMS personnel (LODD, cancer, suicide) and raises awareness and funds for the Texas LODD Task Force. This event is a virtual 5K run/walk.
A Virtual Run is a race that can be run at any location. You have a flexible time frame in which to finish your race. We also have fun race categories for you to complete in. Awards are given not to the fastest runner but to runners for a variety of things!
The 5k launches on March 1 and runs until March 31st. During that time, you can run your 5k anywhere and at any time in memory of a fallen public servant. We will match with a fallen EMS worker, firefighter, or law enforcement officer if you don't have someone already chosen.
How: First, register for the Run to Remember through our RunSignUp platform. You can register online at any time, up until 5pm, March 30th, 2023. Run or walk the 5k wherever you’d like (on your favorite local running trail, in your neighborhood, on a treadmill, etc) between March1- March 31, 2023.

Where: You choose the location where you run. Make sure you submit your pictures to our private Facebook page to compete in the award categories.
Why: To raise awareness for fallen public servants and for the Texas LODD Task Force.

COST: Individual 5k $25 or $35 if you would like to register your canine.

Refund Policy
Due to the upfront nature of event costs, we have a uniform policy of no refunds, transfers or deferrals to a future year. We know that plans change and unexpected things come up, but we feel it is most fair to apply a uniform policy to all, instead of an arbitrary line of who merits a refund and who doesn’t. Thank you for your understanding. Make sure that you are good to go when you sign up!
Virtual Run FAQ
Why should I do a virtual race? The short answer would be because they are cool. The more detailed top 4 reasons would include:
-
Complete control over your schedule. Complete the race on your own time. No travel expenses, no hassle with parking and no long lines waiting at the potty.
-
An opportunity to support a great cause. Our race benefits the Texas LODD Task Force's programs that assists departments and families of fallen fire, EMS and police officers. These programs are focused on awareness, at-need assistance, long-term care, social services and education.
-
…and last but not least, because running is fun!

Who can participate? Everybody and anybody! There is no age limit and there are no restrictions. So run, jog, walk, crawl, run alone, run in a group, run with your pet, it doesn’t matter. Just get out there and run!
Can I complete the race with a group? Yes! We even have an award for most members in a group run!
Do I have to complete the distance all at one time or can I break it up into different days? No you are not required to run your distance all at one time. Feel free to break it up into several runs if you need to.
What if I want a t-shirt? Lot's of our runners said they didn't need a t-shirt. They just wanted to run for the reason. We decided to lower the cost of the run and give participants the option to purchase a shirt in our Run to Remember store.
